The way of the Buddha was quite interesting in this chapter-(4). The information that "Buddhism derived from a single individual , Siddhartha Gautama" (Strayer, Pg. 183). This was something I never knew. He apparently was born in India, most likely in the sixth century B.C.E. "He was born of royalty- and at the age of 29 years old, he finally saw the outside World on his own- he discovered human suffering in the form of an elderly man, a sick person- and a corpse, all things he had never witnessed. He set out to to find a remedy- his act of severing ties to the attachments of ordinary life is known in Buddhist teaching as the Great Renunciation" (Strayer, Pg. 183). He found his true light, I too experienced this form of enlightenment, I was Confirmed here at N.D.N.U in my Catholic Faith.
Being enlightened or coming into one's religion helps an individual grow and overall inspire others.
